简介:
Personal Statement
I have always been a people’s person and throughout my time at Sixth Form and school I played an active part within the community; I played netball for Derbyshire and later trained the year 7 and 8 netball teams. I feel that sport is an important part of developing one’s character as it teaches the importance of teamwork in a fun and invigorating way. Whilst in the Sixth Form I took part in a voluntary community service programme, and was able to gain lots of knowledge and experience of working with a variety of age groups; I assisted in Year 8 History lessons and regularly listened to people read in Year 7 English lessons. I also visited an elderly member of the community each week. I also completed my bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award whilst at school. Whilst in my final year at university one of my projects involved using lesson plans that I had designed and written to teach local primary school children about the history of their area as a coal-mining district. I took great satisfaction in seeing my ideas and plans working and the children gaining new knowledge from what I was teaching.
My most challenging and exciting experience to date was teaching in Cambodia for a year。 It was very satisfying to see the children develop and advance their English from my teaching。 It also taught me a lot about children how to get the best out of them。
I am hardworking, friendly, enthusiastic and always keen to discover new skills and learn new things, I feel that I adapt quickly to change and thrive on a challenge. I am confident dealing with members of the public, I’m friendly and polite and enjoying meeting new people. I feel I work well in a team environment as I enjoy a lively atmosphere, yet I am perfectly happy to work on my own. I enjoy seeing a task through from beginning to end and dealing with any issues that may arise quickly and effectively. I pride myself on being reliable and punctual, and I’m prepared to be flexible to meet requirements.
